J1.     Food Poisoning

Salmonella bacteria, the major culprit in food poisoning, has been shown to be killed by neem extracts (Patel, 1962, 1965). Although prevention is the best way to avoid food poisoning, once it has been ingested, neem is a viable option for reducing the length and severity of the attack.

Oral doses of neem leaf teas will soothe the upset stomach, help the body rid itself of the bacteria and provide relief from many of the miserable symptoms.

Suggested Products:
Neem Leaf Extract - 10 to 15 drops, twice a day
Neem Leaf Powder - Can be used to make neem tea

Neem Oil mixed into ordinary hair oil promotes the blood circulation in the scalp. It has been found to help prevent hair loss and strengthens fine, thin hair and softens strong, dry hair.

J3.     Hangovers

The headaches, stomach upset and general ill feeling of a hangover can be relieved by neem tea.

Neem "resets" the blood glucose levels, opens constricted blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, and counteracts the body's reaction to the alcohol.

For relief after drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, drink a cup of hot neem tea made with ten neem leaves. Anecdotal reports seem to indicate that taking neem for in advance works very well as a preventative.

Suggested Products:
Neem Leaf Extract - 10 to 15 drops, twice a day
Neem Leaf Powder - Can be used to make neem tea

J5.     Spleen Health

One of the first studies showing neem's impact on the immune system was a 1992 report from the National Institute of Immunology in India, reported in the International Journal of Immunopharmacology. Mice injected with neem oil showed enhanced phagocytic activity and expression of MHC class-II antigens. Spleen cells of treated animals showed a significantly higher lymphocyte proliferative response to in vitro challenges.

Reporting on the use of neem extracts as contraceptives in Immunology & Cell Biology, researchers note that neem increases the TH1 type response and showed that it boosts level of CD4 and CD8 cells in lymph nodes and spleen.

Suggested Products:
Neem Bark Extract – 20 drops, twice a day
Neem Leaf Extract – 20 drops, twice a day
